課程概述

學習如何閱讀工科領域英文期刊文章、透過分析已出版之工科期刊文章,學習撰寫文步(introduction, methodologt, result, discussion, and abstract)及慣用英文寫作表現(時態、語用、文法)、練習如何有效地做學術簡報傳達研究之重點和成果
This course will consist of two hours of lectures/class discussions and one hour group discussions/writing tasks. At the end of the semester, students should finish an individual term paper or a collaborative writing project, making use of the moves and techniques that they have learned from the course. In addition, students should be able to apply their presentation techniques to presenting their research/project.  

課程目標
This course will train students to learn how to critically read and write an academic journal research paper in engineering studies. The course will consist of an introduction to English academic writing and to the framework of each part of an engineering academic paper. The course will also train students to make an oral presentation of their research. 
課程要求
Students need to complete a variety of learning tasks (guided reading/writing practices, class/paired discussions, and individual/collaborative writing tasks) at an attempt to develop their writing skills and better understand the structural features of research papers relevant to engineering studies.
